Beliefs and Faith

At Rodbourne Cheney Baptist Church, we consider the following to be the most important beliefs which we adhere to.  They are based on theDeclaration of Principle which is the basis of the Baptist Union to which the church is affiliated.

The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith remains probably the most comprehensive statement of Baptist belief.

Beliefs and faith are very important things within the Christian way of living.  In fact, before being called  Christians followers of Jesus were known as a group called  The Way.   It is by faith that we live, in the knowledge that by God’s grace and mercy, we are saved through the work that Jesus did on the cross, dying for our sins and setting us free from condemnation.

There is only one true God
